Khaled Moumneh, D.O.

Khaled Moumneh, D.O., M.Sc., is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Pennachio Eye with academic and research roots in cornea and glaucoma. He is committed to providing cutting-edge, evidence-based care and stays at the forefront of the field by actively reviewing the latest ophthalmology literature. He has authored peer-reviewed publications, presented at national meetings, and is currently developing a novel therapeutic for multiple corneal disorders. His research spans anterior segment surgery, glaucoma, corneal disease, and public health.
Dr. Moumneh earned his bachelor’s degree in Anatomy and Cell Biology with honors from McGill University and went on to complete a master’s degree in Experimental Medicine, where he wrote his thesis on future targets for HIV treatment. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree summa cum laude from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was awarded the U.S. Public Health Service Excellence in Public Health Award. He completed his ophthalmology residency at HCA Bayonet Point Hospital, where he placed in the top 10% nationally on the Ophthalmic Knowledge Assessment Program (OKAP) exam twice, earning the Patrick Murray Award.
Deeply committed to service and mentorship, Dr. Moumneh has organized health fairs in Harlem, mentored underrepresented students, and participated in surgical outreach missions in Honduras. He is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cooking and spending time with his wife and two children.
